Joe DiMaggio
Baseball · New York Yankees · Center field
DiMaggio's most-hunted cards are pre-war: the 1936 R314 Goudey Wide Pen, which most collectors call his rookie card, and the 1938 Goudey Heads-Up #274 and #250, followed by the 1941 Play Ball #71 and 1948 Leaf #1. He has no 1952 Topps card, and the post-war Bowman cards I checked conflict between sources, so I left them out. The market is thin: the only known PSA 10 of the 1941 Play Ball #71 sold in 2020, and I found no recent PSA 10 sales for the other cards.

1936 Goudey Wide Pen Premiums R314 #NN Joe DiMaggio / Joe McCarthy
Most collectors treat this as DiMaggio's true rookie card; it is the earliest and the scarcest of his pre-war issues, and it is shared with Joe McCarthy.
Raw figure is SportsCardsPro's ungraded guide for this card, not a single sale; sold comps are thin (a tape-pull copy sold for $425 in Sept 2025). Newest graded sale I found is a PSA 2 from 2021 at $1,300. No PSA 10 sales found.

1938 Goudey Heads-Up (R323) #274 Joe DiMaggio
The caricature-style Heads-Up design is one of the most recognizable 1930s cards, and the #274 is the version most collectors hunt.
Recent sales are mostly graded low-grade copies; the newest sale I found is $9,899.99 (Aug 2026, grade not stated). A PSA 8 on Card Ladder shows $63,440 with no date. No PSA 10 sales found.

1938 Goudey Heads-Up (R323) #250 Joe DiMaggio
The companion #250 variation of the 1938 Heads-Up set; collectors note high-grade #250s are harder to find than the #274.
Sales are graded low grades: PSA FR 1.5 sold for $5,809.64 at Goldin (June 2026); PSA PR 1 sold for $2,500 (Feb 2026). No raw or PSA 10 sales found.

1941 Play Ball #71 Joe DiMaggio
His best-known post-rookie card and the centerpiece of the 1941 set, tied to his 56-game hitting streak; it is one of the most valuable pre-war cards of any player.
Only one PSA 10 is known; it sold for $750,000 at Heritage in Feb 2020, so the newest PSA 10 comp is six years old. Raw figure is SportsCardsPro's ungraded guide; a PSA 5 sold for $6,605 in Apr 2025. Raw market is roughly $1,600-$2,200 by one recent estimate.
