Lou Gehrig
Baseball · New York Yankees · First base
Gehrig's key cards are all pre-war: the 1925 Exhibit (often called his true rookie card), the 1933 Goudey #160 and #92 (the set most often labeled his official rookie issue), the 1932 U.S. Caramel #26, and the 1934 Goudey #37. Low-grade copies of the Goudey and Caramel cards sell in the low thousands, while high-grade examples and signed pieces reach six or seven figures. Comps are thin, PSA 10 sales are rare or absent for most of these, and the newest sales are often months old.
