Wayne Gretzky
Hockey · Edmonton Oilers · Center
Gretzky's rookie cards are the core of his market, especially the 1979-80 O-Pee-Chee #18 and the 1979-80 Topps #18. Only two PSA 10s exist of each, so the top prices are old private or Heritage sales, while recent PSA 9 and PSA 8 sales of the O-Pee-Chee run about $100K and $20K. Raw copies rarely show a clean recent sold price, and the one autograph comp found (a PSA 9 with a 10 auto, $540K in May 2026) is the newest big sale.
Prices are recent sales we found on Oct 8, 2026 and refresh weekly while people are looking. Check the sold prices before you buy.

- Flagship rookie
1979-80 Topps #18 Wayne Gretzky Rookie
The U.S. counterpart to the O-Pee-Chee rookie; it is the second-most-sought Gretzky rookie and has its own PSA 10 history.
The PSA 10 $720K sale was Dec 2020 (Heritage); older PSA 10 sales were 2016 ($200,976). One report of a $1.2M PSA 10 in 2022 conflicts with other reporting, so it is not used. Recent PSA 9 sale: $37,820 (Jul 2026, Heritage). Recent PSA 8: $6,800 (Jun 2026). Raw sold prices not found.

- Autograph
1979-80 O-Pee-Chee #18 Wayne Gretzky Rookie Autograph (PSA 9, auto 10)
A signed version of the O-Pee-Chee rookie is the rarest and most expensive Gretzky rookie variation.
Sold $540K including buyer's premium at Fanatics Collect's May 2026 auction, the record for any autographed hockey card. Only one such sale found, so the market is thin.

- Autograph
1994-95 Upper Deck Be a Player Autographs #108 (/300)
Gretzky's first certified signature card, limited to 300 copies; it is the key autograph for collectors who want an on-card Gretzky signature.
No recent sold comps found. Listings found were asking prices only (roughly $2,999 to $25,000), so no sale price is reported.
